Shaun Micallef’s success on Channel 10′s slapstick gameshow Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation demonstrates that, unfortunately, the vast majority of Shaun Micallef’s career happened fifteen years before the vast majority of Australia was ready for it.
The reading is from Luke 24
Where Christ returns to his loved ones
I look at the stone apostles
Think that it’s alright for some
And I wish that I was made of stone
So that I would not have to see
A beauty impossible to define
A beauty impossible to believe
A beauty impossible to endure
Last week I went to the Sydney Opera House. I saw Opera Australia’s production of La bohème. It was very good.
Speaking of the Opera House, and very good things;
Neil Finn, Kev Carmody, Sarah Blasko, John Bell, Angus and Julia Stone, Paul Kelly, Opera Australia, Martha Wainwright, Katie Noonan, The Sydney Symphony, Daniel Johns, and the Australian Chamber Orchestra.
(I’m not complaining, but how did Martha Wainwright get in there?)
