Come On Australia, Shake Your
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned how good TZU’s Smiling At Strangers album is? Well, anyway, I like it so much I bought it twice. It was re-released the other day as Snarling At Strangers in new packaging and with a bonus five track EP, as well a s a few film clips.

The name change is apt. The original album was mostly light-hearted and fun-loving (a fact I attribute with single-handedly getting me into hip-hop), but the new EP is a harsh critique of current politics/society. It’s not as militaristic or angry as The Herd’s material, but it’s harsh nonetheless. It still has the genius wit and timelessness of Australian hip-hop (henceforth referred to as skip-hop to avoid confusion).
Go get it. It’s good.

Live Without Warneing

Farewell to the second greatest cricketer in history. And thanks - for making countless summers so unbelievable entertaining.

Lashes II
I got back in to Australia yesterday, and was greeted by an insane amount of smoke. There may be a bunch of bushfires all over the South-East of the country, but I think most of the smoke is coming from The Ashes series…

Mates Before Dates
You should always be best, or at least very close friends with someone before you start to date them. If you’re friends before you’re anything more than that, the relationship is going to last a lot longer, and be a lot healthier.
Right? Wrong.
If you find yourself in the situation, take careful note of your relationship before the dating starts. That’s the intensity of relationship they are going to be comfortable having with other people. While you’re dating. ‘Cause hey, “we’re just friends”.
Here endeth my wisdom imparted for today.
(And next time I date a boy, I’m choosing one who doesn’t associate with any females on any levels closer than ‘acquaintance’).
Heaven Scent
Girls smell great. Any guy will be able to tell you, the way she smells is simply beyond words.
Sometimes as you walk down a busy street or cram into a crowded train, or wait in the queue for the ATM, you catch a whiff of someone using the same deodourant as her. You spin around, but of course she is not there. You know full well that she’s not even in the same country as you right now, but you still spin around and look for her. Because that’s what that smell does to you. When you’re thirty five, you still jump when a scent reminds you of the girl you dated at seventeen.
The worst thing in the world is when you start dating a girl, only to hug her and realise she uses the same deodourant as one of your ex-girlfriends.
When you cuddle up to Mandy and then blurt out “Sarah?!”, it does not go down well. Girls, please forgive us (after all, it is your fault).
