It Takes Its Toll
I think I’ve had an affair
At least that’s what they call it these days
And it wasn’t very fair
To the ones that I love
So it got me to thinking, for whom is it more painful? The person who had the affair, or the person who was betrayed? First thought is that it’s worse for the betrayed, but then what’s to be said for regret?
Well I just pushed her away
There was nothing I could say
Now I hang myself each night
With this noose that I built
I’ve often wondered. Can’t say I know the answer.

Play
Some folks noticed recently that I’d been listening to Jennifer Lopez. Got quite a response.
It’s true, I quite like Play by J-Lo (as she was known at the time). I also like lots of Jamiroquai, Pineapple Head by Natalie Imbruglia, She’s So High by Tal Bachman, and Lucky by Britney Spears.
I don’t care if everybody’s gone
Turn it up ’cause it turns me on
Keep dancin’ all night long
It feels so right that it can’t be wrong
I get the chills up and down my spine
Whenever I hear that song of mine
When it stops better press rewind
Let me hear it one more time!
We still cool? Good. I knew you weren’t that shallow.

So What Becomes Of You My Love?

I bought The Office series one and two plus christmas specials DVD pack. Back in the day I taped most of the episodes on VHS as soon as I realised it was going to be a rewatchable classic. This stuff is just too good - the best comedy series in the last few years by far. You should watch it and stuff.
In other Ricky Gervais news, More Flanimals has got to be close to available here in Australia now. Yeah!

The Structure Of Language
I have noticed recently that a lot of people say the initialism SQL phonetically as ’sequel’. This, people, is weird. Some acronyms can be said (it’s like a radar!), some can’t. SQL can’t. I only just noticed this happening recently. How long have people been doing this?
Exatchteaemell.

That Big Day
Daniel Boud took some photos at the big day out in Syndey. Looks like he went to almost all the same sets as I did. A couple of his photos featured in Eleven Magazine’s gallery, and the rest are up in a gallery on Boud’s website. I think he’s my favourite photographer of ever. Though that could be because I know nothing about photography, and he likes photographing music in action.
Can you spot me in the crowd?

Four To Fall Away
I’ve had a few people ‘tag’ me with the Four Things meme. Thanks all, but no thanks. It’s for no other reason than I can only think of four answes for one of the questions. Most of the questions I can only think of one answer, and some I can’t even think of any. You understand, we’re cool, right?

Life Is Irrelevant Simon
I bought an iPod Shuffle today. Last week Apple cut the prices by fifty dollars here in Australia (they cut the price everywhere else too, but they cut it in Bucks and Euros), so that was my cue.
Everyone wonders why I got a Shuffle instead of a nano or a whatever the other ones are called. But hey, poeple are stupid, we all know that. If I wanted a television I wouldn’t buy one with a half inch screen that only played video hits. My walkman never had a screen, my discman doesn’t have a screen, my stereo doesn’t have a screen, so why would I want my MP3 player to have one? And all you people who go on about wanting to be able to get to the specific song they want - get over it. You don’t care about the music, you just want to play with your click-wheel. You know it. Having visuals on a music player is like having sound on your… television. Umm.
