// 24th November

I going to Vanuatu now. I don’t know whether they know what the Interweb is over there (nothing like researching your trip!), but if I get the chance to yell, I shall. In the mean time, why not read the Vanuatu news headlines (below)! If they say stuff like “First Australian Elected as Vanuatu’s President” then that’s good. If they say “Another Tsumani Rocks the Pacific” then that’s not so good.

(Note my heightened level of cultural awareness there. Here’s hoping I don’t get arrested. I don’t really want to take over Vanuatu, in case anyone from the Vanuatuan government is reading this).

Lulu bae i bonem haos, y’all.

Birthday Relief

// 23rd November

Just when I was about to fall to pieces, my birthday saved me.

Epicure - Main Street

Epicure’s Main Street, an absolutely fantastic album, though nowhere near as good as Goodbye Girl. Still, there’s a good few tracks on here that give me goosebumps (slash make me cry).

And as he’s watching her eyelids close in the T.V. glow
He can’t help thinking that
She’s a tightrope walker… and he’s the streets below.

The Clash - London Calling

The Clash’s London Calling.

Triple J's Like A Version

From the sleeve-

Cover songs are often perceived as the slackers way to fame. Like A Version was inspired by the mission to snatch the cover back from the Shannon Nolls and Alien Ant Farms of this world and give it back some pride.

The best bit? I still have a hundred dollars worth of gift vouchers left over.

Regarding Freedom

// 17th November

A new low of one hundred and sixty three vehicles were torched last night in France.

Why is it that the Western world will go down in the flames of riots and suicide bombings before we ever let go of our precious ‘freedom’?

In much more important news (and before I get all emo on you), we’ve made it to the soccer world cup finals for the first time in thirty two years. Ole (or whatever soccer-heads say)! I’ve been saying for years that the Australian soccer league was poor, and that it should be restructured into state teams, which would build up rivalries, and get everyone into it. They finally did that, and we made the world cup a few months later. I’m some sort of genius, surely.

I’m going to take up soccer, as soon as I find a team with a division ‘E’.

Flucks

// 15th November

An indepth review of Flock.

Ahahahahahahahah. Oh sorry, I just opened up Flock again. On to the review…

Aesthetics: 10/10.
Reskinning Firefox, adding three extensions, and changing the name: 10/10.
Everything else: 0/10.

Now please point out the error of my ways, because I am either missing something big, or Flock is near useless.

Flock.

I think most of the hype is because people like saying the name. Flock. I can understand that.

Sister Havana

// 14th November

My little sister was given a bag of hand-me-down clothing the other day. She went through and discarded every single top that revealed shoulders, or had spaghetti straps and whatnot. I’m so proud, this moment is right up there with Placebo’s Sleeping With Ghosts being the first album she ever bought.

Mono-lingual

// 11th November

On Tuesday, I for once remembered to go around to my Indian lecturers office to pick up my marked assignments. She said they’d be done by Thursdays class. On Thursday I showed up, only to find that not only were the assignments not ready, class had been cancelled. Apparently she’d posted it on the subject forum at eleven pm the night before. I love my Indian lecturer. She makes every day hilariously funny. It’s beyond words. Quite literally, she has no idea what I’m saying, and I have even less idea what she’s saying. For an I.T lecturer she has tragic MSPowerpoint skills. Couple that with her ‘English’ and she’s lucked out on pretty much every communication department. I overheard her talking to the head guy (’the head guy’ is the technical term for him) about a ‘performance evaluation’. Not many students like her much. I hope she doesn’t get fired. When I finally got my assignemts back today I found I had scored above ninety percent for both. Not bad for a combined half hours work.

Also today Adam and I ran our final presentation for the website / content management system we’ve been building for the last few months. I did most of the talking, because Adam doesn’t like it much. We absolutely blitzed it, our product was by far the best in the class (aside form one guy who’s some sort of freak, he is eons ahead of everyone). Critically judging, I’d say we’ll get one hundred percent marks, give or take none.

That wraps up classes for the year ever. Time for bed, see you all next year!

Sixty two new CDs between the start of the year and mid October. Since then - none. Cold turkey hurts. I hope my wallet is appreciating all this.
