That Blogger in Your Life

// 28th November

I would punch someone wearing any of this apparel, because that is just pushing the limits of geekiness. the blue screen of death shirt was funny for a little while, until people started wearing them

but rss? it’s a a lightweight multipurpose extensible metadata description and syndication format – not a fashion statement.

New Map of the World

Ever wondered what a graphical map of the internet would look like? yeah, well neither have i, but the opte project is pretty cool. it’s a great big, confusing, and colouful map of every one of the six gazillion little nodes, routers and other bits hardware that make up the internet. and of course you have been dying to do that for the last four years

you can even find yourself on it

Two Weeks and Seven Days

// 27th November

three days, three exams, a job interview, a birthday and a soccer game. that’s a pretty full week by my standards

the exams…

were easy. yay. school’s out as they say. now i’m bored

the job interview…

went well. maybe i’ll get to the next round

the birthday…

i’m in denial. i’m a bit richer though

the soccer game…

had a brawl in it. i was not involved, i just watched. kind of lame way to end a game.

drop a ham

// 26th November

contrary to what i thought, my weblog isn’t the most boring read around. the dullest blog in the world lays claim to that one

so when i read this two line post, which attracted no less than one hundred and forty three comments, it’s not surprising that i feel like i must be doing something wrong here right?

Fair Foreign Friend

// 24th November

I’m feeling pretty wired for my java exam tomorrow. lecturer said, “don’t just look at the practise exam solution and kid yourself that you can do it”

no fear

i looked at the practise exam and thought, ‘there’s no freakin’ way i can do that!’

Don’t Cry

// 23rd November

each person has the monumental capacity for destruction or creation, and they are resigned to picking apart the thinnest slivers of reality. what would happen, i think, sitting surrounded by these faces and this chatter, if one person suddenly realized the potentiality of their soul? it would cause confusion and awe like nothing ever chatted about on that bench before. what if everyone within eyeshot did, or started to, come to realize what they are really about? it can hardly be imagined. mere existence is more immense than we can fathom; this makes the smallness with which we live beyond all absurdity. it is regrettable that, as kierkegaard observed, “our imaginations do not bind us in character.”

So the true thing, the thing that must be held onto at all costs, is this imagination, this power give meaning to a thing
